Welcome to my Data Science pages¶
I'm Svavar Konráðsson. I'm a mechanical engineer and I work at Fab Lab Ísafjörður, Iceland. I finished my Master's thesis this summer (2025). That was a huge relief and I had no plans for further studies, but then Neil Gershenfeld & co launched Fab Futures, so here I am!
I've done some data analysis and computer vision stuff in MATLAB. I love MATLAB because it was my introduction to programming and it has the best documentation I've ever seen. The problem is that MATLAB convinced me that I could program, when in fact all I can do is write MATLAB scripts.
I want to use this opportunity to get acquainted with the data analysis tools in Python, both to use at work and for my personal R&D projects. And eventually branch out to learn general programming.
