Hello, I´m Luis!

I’m taking this course because I want to understand the full chip-design pipeline and apply it to real projects. After years of building modular synthesizers, and now developing analog modules at A Industriosa, I want to take the next step: designing our own chips to explore new waveforms and synthesis techniques (such as wavetable/DDS, PWM, or waveshaping), with a solid, reproducible, and well-documented technical foundation.

Final Project - Ring Modulator

Ring Modulator

In this project I developed a ring modulator following the complete chip design flow with open-source tools and Sky130 technology, from the Verilog description of the circuit to synthesis, physical implementation, and final verification. Beyond the chip itself, I also worked on the PCB and on its projection as a functional Eurorack module, connecting microelectronics with a real application in sound synthesis. This experience helped me better understand how an idea can evolve from a technical concept into a complete product, and it also encourages me to imagine more advanced future developments, as well as to reflect on how some legendary synthesizers may once have been designed and manufactured.
