About me
I’m Þórarinn Bjartur Breiðfjörð, an electronics technician, director of Fab Lab Ísafjörður since 2014, and educator.
Background
My work focuses on electronics, embedded systems, digital fabrication, and open-source hardware. Through the Fab Lab network, I’ve worked at the intersection of education, prototyping, and innovation. I also teach various electronics courses in upper secondary school.

Part of the national Fab Lab network in Iceland, collaborating on education, workshops, and technology development across the country.

Engaged in regional collaboration across Nordic labs, sharing knowledge, teaching methodologies, and technical development.
The Global Fab Lab Network
Connected to the international Fab Lab community, contributing to education, evaluation, and collaborative projects worldwide.
Why Microelectronics
There are two reasons. First, a personal interest in learning these skills and understanding the full design workflow. Second, the ambition to bring this knowledge back to the region and country, and make this field more accessible in the future.
