Class 1 - Cryptography

A public/private key pair is a matched set of cryptographic keys generated together via an algorithm (asymmetric encryption). Used for Encryption (Confidentiality), Digital Signatures (Authentication & Integrity), Secure Remote Access (SSH).

Private Public Key uses

Private and public keys are mathematically linked pairs used in asymmetric cryptography to secure online communication, verify digital identities, and protect data.

Protection of Private Key

Private Key must be protected because it is the sole proof of identity and ownership in crypotgraphic ecosystem. It is also because the mathematics work, anyone who gains access to the private key can instantly impersonate, read any private data, or steal the assets.
