Class

The session started with a review of the previous week's assignments on human security. Students shared their work and discussed topics such as phishing, organizational culture, AI-related risks, and security awareness before the instructors transitioned to the final lecture of the course.

The main lecture was given by Vincent, with Jean-Jacques Quisquater joining later due to connection issues. The lecture focused on hardware and physical security, exploring attacks that become possible when an attacker has physical access to a device. Topics included hardware wallets, side-channel attacks, fault injection, clock and voltage glitching, power analysis, electromagnetic attacks, fault attacks on cryptographic systems, and hardware tamper resistance. The speakers also discussed practical countermeasures and why physical security is an essential part of building secure systems.

After the lecture, the instructors answered questions about physical attacks, discussed the limitations of tamper-resistant hardware, and reminded students to continue preparing their final project presentations and documentation.
